CalCloud - Overview
Cloud computing has emerged as a cost-effective and reliable technology to deliver information technology services offered on-demand and via a pay-per-use model. Cloud computing plays a significant role in improving the delivery of government services in the State of California.
The CDT issued a Cloud Computing Policy to capitalize on the benefits of cloud computing agencies and State entities are to utilize the cloud services provided through the CDT, for all new IT Projects when feasible.
To meet customer demand, CDT launched the CalCloud program which is comprised of the following services.
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
- Email (CCES)
- Vendor Hosted Subscription Service (VHSS)
- Assessment, Planning and Implementation Services
